NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta officially opened the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s (MCD) automated multilevel puzzle parking structure at the Punjabi Bagh cremation yard.
At Punjabi Bagh’s Bharat Darshan Park, she also established the framework for a comparable facility. The recently opened facility has space for 225 cars, and the next one will have space for 188 cars.
Nine modules with distinct elevations for SUVs and sedans make up the 3,000 square meter automated parking lot. Car owners only need to park their vehicles on a platform; the system will automatically store them in the appropriate spots without any human involvement.
Users will find the average retrieval time of only 150 seconds to be more convenient. The front of the building will also be used for advertisements, bringing in more money for the MCD to spend on public works projects. According to MCD officials, operations and maintenance have been planned for the upcoming decade to guarantee seamless operation. A multilevel automated puzzle parking system is also planned for Bharat Darshan Park, with a costing of Rs 31.65 crore.

The facility will have eight modules, span 1,500 square meters, and house 188 cars. When the chief minister visited, she inspected the facility and gave personnel instructions to put the safety and convenience of the people first. In order to make life easier for citizens, she added Delhi has been dealing with problems with roads, flyovers, schools, hospitals, malls, and parking for the past 27 years. “Basic infrastructure should be improved for the people, but I don’t mind if no major projects are completed. Roads, sewers, and parking problems should be fixed first,” CM continued.
