New Delhi: Tecno has expanded its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Tecno Pova 8, the latest addition to its Pova series and the successor to last year’s Pova 7. The device focuses on gaming performance, long battery life and a unique rear design featuring the brand’s customisable Alive Matrix Display.
The launch strengthens Tecno’s presence in the mid-range segment, with the Tecno Pova 8 targeting users seeking high refresh rate display, strong battery backup and enhanced gaming capabilities.
Tecno Pova 8 Display and Design
The Tecno Pova 8 features a 6.76-inch full-HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 1080 × 2344 pixels. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 950 nits peak brightness in High Brightness Mode. Tecno also claims a 91.29% screen-to-body ratio and 381 ppi pixel density, making the viewing experience more immersive.
A key highlight of the Tecno Pova 8 is the Alive Matrix Display on the rear panel, which provides customisable visual alerts for notifications and app activities.
Performance and Software
Powering the is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset built on a 6nm process, paired with Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. The smartphone is available with up to 8GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The device runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16 and includes dedicated G1 and SE1 signal enhancement chips to improve connectivity performance. With these specifications, the Tecno Pova 8 aims to deliver a smooth gaming and multitasking experience.

The Tecno Pova 8 also comes with MIL-STD-810H durability certification and IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. It includes a large 14,689 sq mm cooling system to manage heat during heavy gaming sessions.

The is priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant and Rs. 31,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. It is available in 16-bit White, Plasma Orange and Terminal Green colour options and will be sold via Flipkart in India.
