The latest colour option joins the existing Black, Platinum Silver, Midnight Blue, and Sand Pink variants, offering consumers more style choices while retaining the same flagship features and performance.

The Sandstone edition of the Sony WH-1000XM6 was first introduced globally in May and has now officially arrived in the Indian market. The addition further strengthens Sony’s premium audio lineup, giving buyers five colour options to choose from.

Sony WH-1000XM6 Price and Availability in India

Sony has priced the new Sandstone variant of the Sony WH-1000XM6 at Rs. 39,990, identical to the pricing of the other colour models. The headphones were initially launched in India in September 2025 in Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue shades. Earlier this year, Sony also introduced a Sand Pink version before unveiling the new Sandstone finish.

Customers can purchase the headphones through Sony Centre stores, Amazon, Croma, Reliance Digital outlets, and Sony’s ShopatSC online platform.

Same Premium Features in a Fresh New Look

Apart from the new colour, the Sony WH-1000XM6 remains unchanged in terms of hardware and features. The headphones feature a closed-back over-ear design equipped with 30mm drivers and support for Hi-Res Wireless Audio via LDAC technology.

The headphones are powered by Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 and utilize 12 microphones to deliver industry-leading active noise cancellation.

Additional features include Adaptive NC Optimiser, Ambient Sound Mode, Auto Ambient Sound, and Quick Attention mode, allowing users to stay aware of their surroundings whenever needed.

For entertainment enthusiasts, the Sony WH-1000XM6 supports 360 Reality Audio Upmix for Cinematic sound, creating a more immersive audio experience. Multipoint connectivity enables seamless switching between two paired devices, while Sony’s MEMS microphone system ensures clearer voice calls.

Connectivity and Battery Life

The headphones support Bluetooth 5.3 along with SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3 codecs. Users also get a 3.5mm audio cable in the box for wired listening.

Sony claims the headphones offer up to 30 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation enabled. With noise cancellation turned off, playback time can extend up to 40 hours on a single charge.

Charging is handled through a USB Type-C port, with a full recharge taking approximately 3.5 hours. Weighing around 254 grams, the headphones also come bundled with a carrying case for added convenience.
