New Delhi: Oppo’s upcoming Reno 16 series is steadily making headlines as launch preparations gain momentum. The latest leak has revealed key details about the Oppo Reno 16 Pro Global Variant, which recently appeared on Geekbench, offering an early look at its hardware, software, and performance capabilities.

Geekbench Listing Confirms Model Number

A new Geekbench listing has revealed an Oppo smartphone carrying the model number CPH2863. Earlier certification documents had already linked this model number to the Oppo Reno 16 Pro Global Variant, indicating that the device is nearing its official launch in global markets.

Although Geekbench does not directly mention the smartphone’s name, multiple reports suggest that the listing belongs to the Reno 16 Pro model intended for international release.

MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Expected Under the Hood

The benchmark database shows that the smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s MT6899 chipset. The processor features an octa-core architecture consisting of one core clocked at 3.40GHz, three cores operating at 3.20GHz, and four efficiency cores running at 2.20GHz.

Industry sources believe the chipset is the MediaTek Dimensity 8550, the same processor reportedly used in the Chinese version of the Reno 16 Pro. The device is also equipped with the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, which is expected to deliver smooth gaming performance and improved graphics processing.

12GB RAM and Android 16 Out of the Box

The Geekbench listing further reveals that the Oppo Reno 16 Pro Global Variant was tested with approximately 11.18GB of RAM, which is likely to be marketed as 12GB RAM when the device launches commercially.

On the software front, the smartphone is expected to run Android 16 straight out of the box. Oppo will likely pair the latest Android version with its custom ColorOS 16 user interface, bringing new features and system enhancements to users.

Benchmark Scores Indicate Powerful Performance

Performance results from Geekbench highlight a notable improvement over the standard Reno 16 model.

The Oppo Reno 16 Pro Global Variant achieved a single-core score of 1,575 points and a multi-core score of 5,889 points. In comparison, the standard Reno 16 reportedly scored 1,240 points in the single-core test and 3,994 points in the multi-core benchmark.

These results suggest that the Pro variant will offer significantly better multitasking, gaming, and overall performance.

India Launch Expected in July

Rumors indicate that Oppo could launch the Reno 16 series in India on July 2, although the company has not yet officially confirmed the date.

With certifications, benchmark appearances, and leaks surfacing frequently, industry observers believe the official announcement is just around the corner. Additional details regarding the smartphone’s display, camera setup, battery specifications, and pricing are expected to emerge in the coming days.

What to Expect

The Oppo Reno 16 Pro Global Variant is shaping up to be a powerful premium smartphone with a flagship-grade chipset, ample RAM, Android 16 support, and strong benchmark performance. As Oppo prepares for its global unveiling, consumers can expect more information to surface ahead of the anticipated launch event.
