Google Discover adds support for YouTube Shorts, Instagram, and X posts, plus a new follow button to help users customize their feed with preferred creators.
New Delhi: Google Discover, the AI-driven personalized feed that shows media, videos, and articles based on user preferences, is getting a significant update. According to Google, the feed will now display updates from publishers and artists around the world in addition to content from Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and X (previously known as Twitter). Additional platform support is anticipated soon.

After receiving comments from people who like viewing and interacting with a variety of content—including articles, videos, and social media posts—Google says the change will be implemented. By doing this, users will find trending material more easily and won’t have to switch between apps.
A brand-new “Follow” button for customization
A new “follow” button has been added by Google to the top-right corner of Discover postings in an effort to make the feed more helpful for consumers. Tapping it allows consumers to follow their preferred publishers or creators directly. Following them will result in their material showing up in a special area of Discover with instant access to updates.
To see their most recent postings before choosing to follow a publisher or creator, you may also click on their name. However, in order to use this function, you must be logged into your Google account.
Prior Discover updates
Google has been gradually enhancing the user experience with Discover. The ability to select preferred sources for search results was only added last month (August 2025), assisting consumers in avoiding clickbait and sticking with reliable websites. The inclusion of YouTube Shorts and Instagram enhances Discover’s position as a one-stop shop for customized entertainment and news.
With these recent modifications, Google Discover is gradually evolving into a personalized area where you can follow your favorite publishers, creators, and even social media updates in a single feed.
