23-year-old women, Saumya Kashyap, the wife of a police constable posted in Lucknow, died by suicide after alleging in a video that she was being harassed by her husband, in-laws, and even his uncle
In the distressing Instagram video, Saumya claimed that her in-laws pressured her husband to remarry. She further alleged threats from her brother-in-law and said that her husband’s uncle who is a lawyer, suggested that he should kill her and assured legal cover for the act.
Police confirmed they recovered the video and conducted a forensic examination at the scene. Saumya was found hanging in her home under tragic circumstances
Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC and the investigations is ongoing
