Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launches Swadeshi Sankalp Run in Dehradun, inspiring youth on Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the ‘Swadeshi Sankalp Run’ from Gandhi Park in Dehradun on Monday, commemorating Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary.

A great number of young people participated in the run, demonstrating enthusiasm and devotion to the ideas of nationalism and self-reliance.
Addressing the crowd, CM Dhami congratulated the youth on the occasion and paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda, characterizing him as the “torchbearer of India’s great spiritual and cultural traditions and a constant source of inspiration for the younger generation.”

“My dear young brothers and sisters, who have gathered here for the Swadeshi Sankalp Run, first and foremost, on this auspicious day, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the torchbearer of India’s great tradition, the tradition of the sages, and an inspiration to the youth, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you all. I pay my respects to Swami Vivekananda, and it is an honor for me to be here with you all today and watch your passion… “Today is a day to reflect on the strength, determination, and potential of India’s youth,” stated CM Dhami.

The Chief Minister stated that Swami Vivekananda’s exhortation, “Arise, awake, and do not stop until the goal is achieved,” will continue to motivate the youth to establish a solid foundation for the nation.

He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is slowly working toward its goal of being a developed nation, and that the role of youth will be critical in making India developed by 2047. He urged everyone to spread the Vocal for Local message and create a broad movement. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts, stating that initiatives such as Start-up India, Make in India, and Skill India must be pursued together.

The Chief Minister, in particular, advised the youth to abstain from narcotics, practice discipline, prioritize education and skill development, and faithfully carry out their national duty.

Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary is commemorated on National Youth Day, which is marked on January 12.

Swami Vivekananda, also known as Narendranath Datta before becoming a monk, was born in Kolkata on January 12, 1863.

Swami Vivekananda established the Ramakrishna Mission on May 1, 1897, to bring together monks and laypeople to spread Practical Vedanta and other types of social service.

Swami Vivekananda is known all over the world for his speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893, which prompted the western intelligentsia to recognize India’s magnificent culture and history that has existed since time immemorial.
