Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami on Wednesday emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards crime, warning that no laxity or compromise would be accepted at any level. He instructed officials to ensure the immediate registration of all crimes and to take strict, effective action against offenders.

CM Pushkar Dhami chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence to review the state’s law and order situation. The meeting included the Chief Secretary, DGP, Home Secretary, ADGP (Law and Order), Garhwal Commissioner, and senior police and government officials.

Focus on Organised and Habitual Offenders

The Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami directed heightened vigilance against habitual and organised criminals, instructing police to identify such individuals and take strict action as per the law. He emphasized that instilling a fear of law was critical to public safety and restoring citizens’ confidence.

“Criminals will not be spared under any circumstances,” CM Dhami stated, adding that strict action must also be taken against those who disturb peace, engage in anti-social activities, or attempt to take the law into their own hands.

He called for greater alertness, accountability, and efficiency in the police force. CM Dhami stressed improving the functioning of police stations and outposts, increasing patrolling and surveillance in sensitive areas, and launching special drives to strengthen traffic management and urban security. He also instructed that law and order issues be reviewed regularly and accountability fixed at every level.
