Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami sanctions ₹183.71 crore for roads, drinking water, housing, Panchayati Raj, and disaster relief projects.
Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a total outlay of ₹183.71 crore to fast-track development across various districts of the state. The funds will be utilised for road construction and maintenance, drinking water supply projects, housing schemes, financial transfers to Panchayati Raj institutions, and disaster relief initiatives, giving a fresh boost to infrastructure development and public welfare in the hill state.
Focus on Road Infrastructure and Connectivity
A significant portion of the funds is earmarked for improving road connectivity. Ahead of the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra, being organised after a 12-year gap, the government has sanctioned ₹12.90 crore for repair and improvement of the Nandprayag–Ghat–Sutol–Kanol motor road (20–40 km) in Tharali Assembly constituency.
In Kaladhungi Assembly constituency, ₹11.15 crore has been approved for widening and strengthening the Panchakki–Chaufulla–Kathgharia canal road. In Yamkeshwar, ₹32.52 lakh has been sanctioned for the first phase of widening and bituminisation of the Piplakoti–Dugadda road.
Additional approvals include ₹5.11 lakh for the Marchula–Kupi–Bhairang Khal route (SH-32). In Dehradun district, funds have been allocated for widening and blacktopping key roads, including Pilli Kothi to Balawala–Gularghati FIC road (3 km) and Kasturi Chowk via Shamshergarh to Balawala Crossing (2 km, first phase).
Drinking Water and Housing Projects
To improve water access, ₹6.55 crore has been sanctioned for the Sonali–Devli Bagar water supply scheme under the Karnaprayag branch in Chamoli district. In Haridwar, ₹11.29 crore has been approved for constructing residential quarters for officers and staff of the Prosecution Department in Roshnabad, addressing long-standing housing needs.
Financial Support to Panchayati Raj Institutions
The Chief Minister has sanctioned ₹141.15 crore for Panchayati Raj institutions under the 15th Finance Commission recommendations (second instalment for 2024–25). This includes ₹21.17 crore for District Panchayats, ₹14.12 crore for Block Panchayats, and ₹105.86 crore for Gram Panchayats, aimed at strengthening local governance and improving service delivery at the village level.
Relief for Disaster-Affected Families
In a move to support disaster-affected citizens, the government has approved financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for Pithoragarh district. Families of nine deceased persons will receive ₹1 lakh each, while owners of five fully damaged houses will get ₹3 lakh each.

Through this comprehensive package, the Uttarakhand government seeks to enhance infrastructure, empower local governance institutions, ensure disaster preparedness, and provide timely relief to affected families, reflecting a continued focus on balanced development across urban and remote hilly areas.
