Uttarakhand CM Dhami launches six new buses in Haldwani to boost public transport and vows to protect the state’s cultural identity and population balance.

Ramnagar / Haldwani: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in Haldwani, the district headquarters of Nainital, on Tuesday as part of his continuing visit of the Kumaon area. He announced six new municipal buses during his visit, which will run on a variety of local routes with the goal of enhancing public transportation options and easing traffic.

“The new city bus service is a significant step toward providing affordable, accessible, and safe transportation to the residents of Haldwani,” CM Dhami said during the launch event. He went on to say that the program would encourage energy efficiency, lessen transportation congestion, and cut pollution.

The bus service will be gradually extended to cover the city’s main routes, according to transport department officials, which will help office workers, students, and local commuters.

CM Dhami Expresses Concern About the State’s Changing Demographics

Along with the transportation effort, Chief Minister Dhami made a strong statement about Uttarakhand’s shifting demographics, stating that the state government will not stand for any interference with the region’s population balance or cultural identity.

CM Dhami declared, “We will not permit the disruption of Uttarakhand’s social and cultural fabric at any cost, as it is the land of the gods (Devbhoomi).”

The chief minister acknowledged that the administration will no longer overlook demographic changes in Pashchimi Doon (Western Dehradun) and other regions of the state.

Tight Guidelines for District Officials

All District Magistrates have been directed to keep a close eye on the demographic trends in their particular regions, according to CM Dhami. He gave staff instructions to review papers including family registrations, Aadhaar cards, ration cards, and energy connections in order to identify recipients of government programs who are not qualified.

According to him, anyone caught using fraudulent methods to obtain government benefits will be subject to severe legal punishment.

Attack on Former Administrations

The Chief Minister also attacked earlier Congress administrations, accusing them of being careless and causing the demographic disparity in some areas of the state. He gave his word that the current administration is dedicated to taking firm, decisive measures to preserve and restore the demographic and cultural balance of Uttarakhand.

“The population composition and cultural values of the state will not be compromised. He stated, “We have directed all DMs to remain vigilant and take prompt legal action against anyone abusing government facilities.”
