Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami pays tribute to Ajit Pawar and approves eight key decisions, including health, education, infrastructure, and Hydrogen Policy 2026.

The cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, beginning with a two-minute silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the recent plane crash in Maharashtra.

The Chief Minister expressed deep grief over the tragedy, stating that Ajit Pawar always served with compassion, sensitivity, and dedication, especially for those at the margins of society. He prayed to God to grant all the departed souls a place in their Charans.

During the meeting, the cabinet approved eight significant proposals:

  1. Medical & Health: Health workers with five years of service will now have the option to transfer to another district with mutual consent.
  2. Revenue: Land acquisition will allow for direct purchase from owners through mutual agreement, simplifying the process.
  3. Parag Farm Land: The land has been allotted to SIDCUL for lease purposes only; selling the land to others will not be allowed.
  4. Tribal Welfare: Appointment of four District Tribal Welfare Officers, including for Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar districts.
  5. Water Charges: In Uttarakhand, except for non-agricultural activities, industrial units and residential societies will pay fees for commercial use of groundwater.
  6. Higher Education: The Uttarakhand Private Universities Act will be amended, establishing GRD Uttarakhand University. The ordinance will be presented in the upcoming budget session.
  7. Airstrips: Joint proposal to hand over Chinyalisaur and Gauchar airstrips to the Ministry of Defence.
  8. Hydrogen Policy 2026: Approval of the Uttarakhand Hydrogen Policy to promote green hydrogen production. Decisions on subsidies will be taken under the Chief Secretary’s supervision.

These decisions reflect the government’s focus on healthcare, infrastructure, education, sustainable energy, and industrial development, while honoring the memory of those lost in the recent tragedy.
