CM Dhami announces Uttarakhand’s first Science Policy, designates Dehradun as the fifth science city, and highlights advancements in the state’s digital governance ecosystem.

CM Dhami ,opened the 4th Border Mountain Children’s Science Festival at Rudraprayag.

At the event, CM Dhami spoke to the crowd and said, “On one hand, we have set up the state’s first ‘Science, Technology and Innovation Policy.’ On the other side, we are improving the ecosystem of technology, digital governance, trade, and development within the state. We also want to improve the science-based knowledge economy by encouraging more scientific research and learning.

Encouraging young people to start businesses and come up with new ideas, “I’m happy to say that Dehradun will soon be the fifth science city in the country,” stated CM Dhami. We will shortly set up a regional committee to improve services and facilities in the border areas. Soon, work on this will begin.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam, a former president and famous scientist, on the 94th anniversary of his birth. Dhami praised Kalam’s lasting work in making India a nuclear-powered country.

CM Dhami posted on X, “On the birth anniversary of former President and great scientist “Missile Man,” “Bharat Ratna” Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Ji, who made an unforgettable contribution to making India a nuclear-powered nation, we pay our hundredfold salutations.”

He said that Missile Man’s life is an unmatched example of hard work, commitment, and love of country that still inspires the quest to build a nation.

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam (1931–2015), also known as the “Missile Man of India,” was a famous scientist and the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.

Born on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, into a modest household, Kalam ascended by sheer hard work and tenacity. As Project Director, Kalam played a big role in making India’s first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III). In July 1980, it successfully put the Rohini satellite into near-earth orbit, making India the only member of the Space Club. He was in charge of the development of ISRO’s launch vehicle program, especially the PSLV configuration.
