Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a Border Area Development Council to improve facilities in border regions, during an event in Guptkashi.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, said  that the state would set up a Border Area Development Council to make things better in border areas.

Dhami spoke during the fourth Border Mountain Children’s Science Festival in Guptkashi, Rudraprayag, and said that the council’s job will be to improve infrastructure in these areas.

He also talked of setting up innovation centers in border districts that would focus on disaster management, health, and education.

The chief minister talked to child scientists from different districts about things like climate change, saving water, and dealing with disasters.

Dhami said that these kids would have new chances to grow.

Dhami praised the accomplishments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in the larger national context, noting that India is becoming more innovative, doing more research, and becoming more self-sufficient.

He also said that Dehradun would soon be home to the country’s fifth science city, which is a big deal for a state like Uttarakhand.
