Yogi Adityanath on Casteism: Strengthening India Through Faith and Social Harmony

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on casteism said that while the caste system is meant to organise society, casteism weakens the social fabric and divides the nation. Speaking at a programme at the Sire temple in Jalore, Adityanath emphasised that religion should act as a unifying force rather than a source of division.

“Caste should be a tool to run society systematically, but casteism weakens that system,” said Yogi Adityanath. He criticised previous governments for promoting divisions based on caste, region, and language, which, according to him, hindered governance and prevented welfare schemes from reaching Dalits, the poor, and marginalized communities.

Yogi Adityanath on casteism also highlighted India’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that the country is moving forward as a global force while ensuring that welfare measures reach people without discrimination. The UP CM cited improvements in infrastructure, including roads, railways, airports, metro systems, medical institutions, and engineering colleges, as evidence of inclusive development.

Targeting earlier UPA governments, Adityanath argued that they viewed India’s spiritual traditions as regressive, whereas the current leadership recognises the role of faith in uniting society. The UP CM also referred to landmark projects like the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Kashi-Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi, stating that faith-based initiatives strengthen India’s social cohesion.

Speaking further, Yogi Adityanath on casteism warned that internal divisions historically allowed invaders to disrupt the country. He urged citizens to work toward the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”, stressing that unity and preserving faith are essential for India’s strength and growth.

In conclusion, Yogi Adityanath on casteism reiterated that casteism undermines national unity, while proper social organisation, faith, and development can strengthen India’s social and economic fabric. Citizens must embrace these ideals to ensure inclusive progress across the country.
