NHAI upgrades NH-27 for smooth Lucknow-Kanpur commute. PNC to maintain it 15 years. Flyover lighting, noise barriers still incomplete.

Since the NHAI renovated the NH-27, travel between Lucknow and Kanpur is now more convenient. The highway will be maintained by the PNC business for the next 15 years, and Sanjeev Sharma, an NHAI official, has emphasized the road’s quality, which has led to the absence of potholes. There are also plans to upgrade the road that connects Banthara and Bani.

The National Highway 27 (NH-27) between the capital city and Kanpur is now faster and free of potholes for commuters. Just past Bani, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) finished rebuilding a sizable portion of the route, addressing earlier problems with traffic jams and road deterioration.

All travelers now have a much more enjoyable trip thanks to the upgrades. The road’s thickness has been significantly enhanced, and no compromise on its quality will be allowed, according to NHAI Regional Officer Sanjeev Sharma. In addition to enabling faster vehicle speeds, this has totally removed the challenges that two-wheelers and small-wheeled vehicles formerly faced.

The company that constructed the new Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, PNC, has agreed to maintain the current NH-27 for the next 15 years in an effort to guarantee long-term quality. Whether using the upcoming expressway or the national highway, this guarantees a seamless travel experience between the two cities.

NHAI : Unresolved problems and pending repairs

Other associated problems have not yet been entirely resolved while the major highway is being repaired:

Connecting Road Between Banthra and Bani: The road that connects Banthra and Bani is still in bad shape. After the expressway work is finished and before its official inauguration, NHAI officials have announced that this road will be completely restored and resurfaced with tarmac. To keep it working, only short-term pothole repairs are being made at this time.

Naderganj Flyover Issues: There are still a number of issues with the Naderganj flyover.

Unfinished Noise Barrier: The PNC firm has only partially erected a noise barrier that is essential for the neighborhood; more than half of the stretch is still unfinished. This lapse makes it simple to take pictures and videos of the nearby airport property.

Absence of Street Lighting: At the moment, there is no street lighting on the flyover. After the airport management objected, the previously placed lights were taken down, and NHAI hasn’t yet offered a replacement. This was seen on Thursday night when a truck with broken tail lights broke down on the pitch-black flyover, generating traffic jams and raising the possibility of a serious collision.
