UP Man celebrates Rakhi, then kills sister days after murdering his lover
Up’s Jhansi district was rocked by a double disturbing murder, where a man allegedly killed his sister- shortly after murdering her lover, even after exchanging Rakhi, the festival which symbolizes the bond between brother and sister.
Police say that Arvind first targeted his sister’s 19-year-old lover, Vishal, by luring him under the false pretext of a job offer in Delhi, a trap along with his friend Prakash Prajapati. Later on, Vishal’s body was found near a temple falling under the Lehchura police station jurisdiction. After a day of celebrating Raksha Bandhan with his sister, Arvind reportedly strangled his sister, tonsured her head, and dumped her body near a hillock. Both the victims were found to have died in gruesome and dreadful conditions.
Local authorities promptly registered two separate FIRs: one lodged by Vishal’s father at Lehchura and another by Arvind’s father at Garotha. Arvind and Prakash have both been arrested according to SP Rural Arvind Kumar, and the investigation is underway. In one of the most distorted ironies of the season, the bond of Rakhi-meant to be sacred and protective-was covered by murder, betrayal, and violence. The case has rattled the region and reignited urgent calls for tougher interventions against family-linked extremist crimes.
