Rajasthan govt’s jobless payment scheme sees major delays, with nearly 1.90 lakh beneficiaries unpaid since February 2025 due to slow implementation.
Jaipur : Young people struggle with unemployment, and their problems are made worse by the delayed payment of unemployment payments. The implementation of the jobless benefit program by the Rajasthan government is far behind schedule. Data from the Department of Employment indicates that since February 2025, almost 1.90 lakh Mukhyamantri Yuva Sambal Yojana recipients have not received their payment.
Since 2024, 15 districts have been denied allowances.
Unemployment benefits have not been provided to youth in the districts of Alwar, Banswara, Barmer, Bhilwara, Churu, Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Jaipur (MEE), Karauli, Nagaur, Pali, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sikar, and Udaipur since 2024. Payments to Jaipur (MEE) and Nagaur have not been received since December 2023 and November 2023, respectively.
The remaining sum owed for unemployment benefits is ₹267.2 crore, which the Rajasthan government’s Skill and Employment Department has asked the Finance Department to pay.
At the department’s request, 192 crore rupees were released.
There is currently ₹246.8 crore outstanding. Additional Chief Secretary for Skills and Employment Sandeep Verma wrote to the Finance Department on September 3rd, asking for the money. According to the letter, the Employment Department had sent bills worth ₹459.6 crore to the Treasury office by August 31. A payment of ₹192.3 crore was made after bills totaling ₹102.5 crore were cleared after an initial request was made to the Finance Department in early August.
Unpaid Invoices for 2023 and 2024 :
According to the letter, a ₹850.2 crore budget for unemployment benefits payments for the fiscal year 2025–2026 was authorized. In spite of this, 2023 and 2024 invoices are still unpaid, which prevents allowances from being disbursed on time in some areas.
Through the Electronic Clearing Service (ECS) mechanism, the letter requests that unpaid invoices for Alwar, Banswara, Barmer, Bhilwara, Churu, Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Karauli, Nagaur, Pali, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sikar, Udaipur, and the women’s employment office in Jaipur be swiftly paid.
The image of the employment department is damaged:
Verma had already written to the Finance Department on August 5, 2025, asking that unemployment assistance invoices for the month of July be cleared. According to the letter, only ₹89.8 crore of the ₹360.8 crore bill that was presented to the Treasury office was paid. The Employment Department’s reputation is being harmed by the nonpayment.
Amount of Allowance :
A ₹4,000 monthly allowance is offered to unemployed youth under the Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Yuva Sambal Yojana. Women, those with impairments, and transgender people get ₹4,500 a month. Every month, almost 1.9 lakh young people receive this jobless benefit.
