The Rajasthani government is continuously implementing a number of initiatives to promote equality, fraternity, and understanding among the populace. Dr. Savita Ben Ambedkar’s Inter-caste Marriage Promotion Scheme is one of these significant programs. This program aims to dismantle caste-based societal barriers and promote nondiscriminatory marriage.

This involves making an initial fixed deposit (FD) of Rs 5 lakh, which is locked for eight years. The remaining Rs 5 lakh is then directly deposited to the spouses’ joint bank account. This gives the couple protection for the future in addition to immediate cash support.

A few prerequisites must be met in order to benefit from this program. For example, one spouse must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and be a native of Rajasthan; both spouses must be under 35; the girl must be at least 18 years old and the boy must be 21; and the spouse’s combined yearly income cannot exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
