CM Sharma Calls Women the Backbone of Society on International Women’s Day

Jaipu : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma addressed the state-level International Women’s Day programme and Highlights Women Empowerment Schemes at Dhan Mandi in Hanumangarh on Sunday, stressing that women are the backbone of society and that their empowerment drives national progress. The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of education, health, and self-reliance for women, urging greater awareness about women’s rights and equal opportunities.

Rajasthan Women Empowerment Schemes Take Center Stage

During his speech, CM Sharma emphasized the achievements of women leaders like President Droupadi Murmu and defence officers such as Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. He also praised Indian sportspersons like PV Sindhu, Smriti Mandhana, Mirabai Chanu, and Avani Lekhara, who have brought global recognition to the country.

The Chief Minister highlighted that several Rajasthan women empowerment schemes have been implemented to improve the welfare of women. These include the Chief Minister’s Ekal Nari Samman Pension Scheme, the Kanyadaan Scheme, the Lado Protsahan Yojana, and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. He noted that more than 19 lakh women pensioners have benefitted under the Ekal Nari Samman Scheme, while over 27,000 girls received support under the Kanyadaan Scheme.

Direct Benefit Transfers Strengthen Welfare

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari stated that under CM Sharma’s leadership, Rajasthan women empowerment schemes are delivered directly to beneficiaries through DBT, ensuring transparency and efficiency. Additional measures, like the 10% increase in honorarium for Anganwadi workers, were also announced to further strengthen women’s empowerment in the state.

Development Projects Boost Women and Community Welfare

CM Sharma laid the foundation and inaugurated development projects worth over ₹1,000 crore in Hanumangarh. During the programme, funds were transferred to beneficiaries of the Lado Protsahan Yojana, Chief Minister’s Maternity Nutrition Scheme, and the Girl Child Distance Education Scheme. Symbolic cheques were distributed under the PM SVANidhi Yojana and the Chief Minister’s Nari Shakti Udyam Protsahan Yojana, while awards were presented under the Panna Dhai Suraksha and Samman Yojana.

Progress in Safety, Education, and Irrigation

CM Sharma also highlighted the government’s efforts to improve women’s safety, noting that investigation time for crimes against women has decreased from 128 days in 2020 to 52 days. On agriculture, he mentioned the state budget provisions, including an additional ₹150 bonus on wheat MSP and ₹500 crore for canal construction in Hanumangarh, supporting balanced development across regions.

The Chief Minister concluded by reiterating the state’s commitment to women’s empowerment in Rajasthan, stating that these initiatives are transforming lives and strengthening the social and economic fabric of the state.
