Sri Anandpur Sahib hosts Nagar Kirtans, heritage walks, Gatka competitions, and exhibitions as Punjab marks Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom.

In honor of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th Martyrdom Day, Education and Information & Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains said on Friday that the Nagar Kirtans, which began in all four directions, will arrive in Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22.

He stated that many sangat assembled around the world would give all nagar kirtans a spectacular welcome by showering them with flower petals. He said that the Nagar Kirtans had traveled a total of 1563 km, starting in Srinagar and ending in Gurdaspur, Faridkot, and Talwandi Sabo. Given the enormous number of attendees anticipated to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day, he added that sufficient preparations had been prepared.

Tarunpreet Singh Sond, the minister of tourism and cultural affairs, stated that all preparations had been made to accommodate faculty members from both domestic and international locations. He stated that the Punjab government had already made the necessary arrangements and preparations in the holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib on the orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. From November 23 to 25, there will be larger-scale religious gatherings and events, including a special Vidhan Sabha session.

Importantly, Kirtan Darbars were held in Baba Bakala, Amritsar, and Patiala, and light and sound performances illustrating the wonderful life and philosophy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji were held in all 23 districts of the state.

The Chief Minister and other dignitaries will attend the November 23 launch of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara Sahib near Baba Budha Dal Chaunni at Sri Anandpur Sahib, according to Bains, who also provided details of the festivities that will take place from November 23 to 25. At the Virasat-e-Khalsa Memorial, the Chief Minister will also open an exhibition that highlights the life and accomplishments of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Prominent religious figures and other dignitaries will attend an all-religion conference that the state government is hosting at the main pandal Baba Budha Dal Chaunni on the same day.

A Nagar Kirtan from Kiratpur Sahib to the Bhai Jaita Ji memorial is scheduled for November 24. In addition, a special Vidhan Sabha session will be held at Bhai Jaita Ji’s memorial, and a heritage walk will be arranged at Sri Anandpur Sahib (Gurdwara Bhora Sahib-Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib-Guru Tegh Bahadur Museum-Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib-Qula Anandgarh Sahib and ending at Virasat-e-Khalsa). In a similar vein, Charan Ganga Stadium will host Gatka along with other events including tent pegging, shield-sword competition, Shastra Darshan, Simran, and Talwar Da Sumal. Similarly, from November 23 to 29, Virasat-e-Khalsa Memorial will host daily drone performances.

Similarly, Sarbat Da Bhala will be held at the main pandal of Baba Buddha Dal Chaunni following the Bhog ritual of Sri Akhand Path Sahib Ji on November 25. For the convenience of the thousands of devotees who will travel to the holy city to attend these activities, the state administration has made a number of provisions. According to him, shuttle service has been made available to make it simple for devotees to get from parking lots to the main locations. Every parking spot has mobile restrooms, traffic marshals, sign boards, lighting, barricading, and CCTV surveillance. This plan also includes the current parking lots surrounding the major sites of worship and culture.

500 e-rickshaws, 150 minibuses, 25 Force Urbania vans, 15 sedans, 20 Tata Ace vehicles, and 10 golf carts were among the vehicles used to help the elderly and devotees with disabilities. The shuttle services will make it easier for the devotees to go between the parking lots and the main pandals, tent cities, Virasat-e-Khalsa, Gurdwara Sri Kesgarh Sahib, and help desk locations. The main control center, which has designated pick-up locations, signage, and volunteer assistance, will oversee the entire system.

In a similar vein, the District Administration of Rupnagar has established two major tent cities, “Chak Nanaki Niwas” Tent City and “Bhai Mati Das Niwas” Tent City, with accommodations for roughly 10,000 devotees, to accommodate the large number of devotees during the events dedicated to the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

The provisions for sangat facilities, including as the deployment of ambulances and the provision of emergency medical services with a major control room open around-the-clock, have also been guaranteed. The Minister noted that in light of the large-scale arrival of sangat, infallible security measures were implemented, with an adequate number of Punjab Police officers deployed for traffic control and security. Under the direction of Punjab Police senior rank officers, about 8,000 police officers have been deployed to closely monitor all activities, he continued.
