Punjab SEC finalizes arrangements for 14 Dec Zila Parishad & Panchayat Samiti elections with IAS/IPS observers ensuring free and fair polls.

The State Election Commission, Punjab, is completely dedicated to conducting the general elections of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti in the state on 14.12.2025, in a manner that is fair and transparent. All arrangements have been finalized by the Commission in this regard.

The Commission notified the contesting candidates and the general public that IAS/Senior PCS officers have been designated as “Election Observers” across all districts. These officers will remain present in their respective districts from today until the conclusion of the election process, including the counting of votes and the declaration of results. They will also keep the State Election Commission informed about the progress of these elections as required. The information regarding these appointed election observers is accessible on the official website of the State Election Commission (https://sec.punjab.gov.in).

In addition, the Commission has designated six senior IPS officers as “Police Observers” to oversee the law and order situation throughout the conduct of these elections in various districts of the state (Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Tarn Taran, Rupnagar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, and Moga), with details available at the respective Deputy Commissioner offices.
