The Japanese steel firm Aichi Steel decided to extend its partnership with Vardhman Special Steels in the state on Thursday, the third day of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s trip to Japan, bringing in an investment of Rs 500 crore. The Chief Minister visited Aichi Steel today and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the company and Vardhman Special Steels.
The Chief Minister declared that today is “Red Letter Day” for the state since Aichi Steel Corporation, the steel division of Toyota, signed this Memorandum of Understanding to boost the state’s industrial growth. Aichi Steel, a significant technological partner that currently owns a roughly 24.9% interest in Vardhman, he added, represents a solid and developing Indo-Japan collaboration in Punjab’s industrial environment. The Japanese Steel Giant will research future industrial operations in Punjab, including a feasibility study for an investment of roughly ₹500 crore, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann.
In the meantime, the Chief Minister promised the Punjabi government full assistance and cooperation in order to fortify and broaden Aichi Steel’s partnership with Vardhman Special Steels in the state. According to the Chief Minister, this goal is straightforward and unambiguous: it aims to establish Punjab as a top location for international industry by providing policy stability, quick decision-making, and a governance structure that values investors’ time and confidence.
