Punjab Roadways and Punbus employees end protest after meeting with Transport Minister Laljit Bhullar; suspended staff to be reinstated soon.
After reaching an agreement in a meeting with the Transport Minister here in Patti, Tarn Taran, protesting employees of Punjab Roadways and Punbus called off their agitation on Sunday.
Following the meeting, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar declared that the remaining, valid demands of the workers would soon be fulfilled, along with the reinstatement of the suspended staff. The Minister went on to say that the unions representing the workers had decided not to get involved in the acquisition of a new fleet of buses. He went on to say that unions would not become involved without a good reason if workers were discovered to be engaged in any criminal behavior at the depot level.

According to the cabinet minister, the Punjab government, which is headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is dedicated to the well-being of its workers while simultaneously looking out for the interests of the state’s citizens and travelers.The Minister gave the employee representatives the assurance that the government would fully look out for the interests of its workers and that they had a responsibility to serve the public.
Laljit Bhullar added that the state’s government bus services have been reinstated. Every problem can be solved by conversation, he claimed. Additionally, he instructed the staff to prioritize providing bus services to college and school students since they represent the country’s future.
