Punjab Police, under ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, arrest 66 drug smugglers, seize 5.1 kg heroin, 1,171 pills, and Rs 4,360 across 282 raids

Chandigarh, Punjab – In the ongoing war against drugs under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh,” Punjab Police have conducted extensive operations across the state for the 267th consecutive day. During the latest raids at 282 locations, 66 drug smugglers were arrested, and 49 first information reports (FIRs) were registered.

The operations led to the seizure of 5.1 kg of heroin, 1,171 intoxicant pills, and Rs 4,360 suspected to be drug-related money from the possession of the arrested smugglers. These efforts bring the total number of drug smugglers apprehended under the campaign to 37,737 over the past 267 days.

Authorities emphasized that the crackdown is part of a sustained effort to eliminate the drug menace from Punjab, targeting traffickers, smugglers, and those involved in the distribution of illegal substances.
