NIC Punjab conducted a 3-day workshop for officers, featuring AI sessions and Karmayogi iGOT training to boost digital governance and administrative excellence.

The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Punjab, arranged a three-day Training-cum-Workshop for all NIC Officers, which culminated with a Karmayogi iGOT session, as part of a major effort to improve administrative excellence and digital governance. The program gave police access to cutting-edge technologies, promoted innovation-led administration, and strengthened Punjab’s goal of becoming a fully digital and citizen-focused state.

Mr. DK Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary, DGG&IT, spoke to the audience and noted that Punjab’s advancements in digital transformation are setting a new standard for governance and service delivery throughout India.

NIC Punjab has become the digital backbone of the government’s operations, enabling effective, transparent, and responsive public service delivery, he added, praising the organization for its crucial role in forming e-Government throughout the State through flagship initiatives like iHRMS and eOffice. He emphasized the need of adopting technology and advised officers to use AI, data analytics, and smart systems to improve citizen outreach and rethink administrative operations. According to him, NIC continuously works to increase digital accessibility and administrative effectiveness. He claimed that by using cutting-edge digital interfaces and real-time service platforms, NIC Punjab’s creative projects had helped close the gap between the public and the government.

Officers from all 23 districts as well as the State Center attended the session, which was sponsored by Mr. Vivek Verma, DDG and State Informatics Officer (SIO), Punjab. He discussed the value of knowledge exchange and skill development in his welcome remarks in order to create governance systems that are prepared for the future. The workshop’s goals were explained to the participants by Mr. Vikram Jeet Grover, ASIO (State), who also urged them to contribute creative ideas to improve collaboration and education.

Along with in-depth technical discussions led by NIC Punjab’s divisional heads, including Mr. Dharmesh Kumar, Mr. Anoop K. Jalali, Mr. Anil Palta, and Ms. Usha Rai, who highlighted the most recent advancements in digital governance, the sessions included expert presentations on artificial intelligence by Intel. Deeper understanding of artificial intelligence and the Right to Information Act was made possible by interactive presentations by Dinesh Sharma, Scientist-F, and Prof. J.S. Sahambi from IIT Ropar. The program also included sessions on well-being, hardware management, and administrative conduct, which deepened both professional and personal growth.

Mr. Vikram Jeet Grover gave a motivational speech during the valedictory session, thanking all attendees and organizers for their commitment and active participation.
