Punjab named ‘Top Achiever’ in BRAP 2024 by GOI, reflecting its business-friendly reforms and record industrial investments.
According to the (Business Reforms Action Plan) BRAP 2024 , Punjab has been named a “Top Achiever” by the administration of India (GOI) in appreciation of the state administration led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s industrial-friendly policies.
In a ceremony held in the nation’s capital today, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal presented the state with this honor.

Punjab has distinguished itself in five important areas of Indian reform: sector-specific healthcare and services, investment enablers, construction permit enablers, and business entry. Punjab has received recognition as a “Top Achiever” under the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) 2024 from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India. This honor reaffirms Punjab’s leadership in Ease of Doing Business and emphasizes the State’s dedication to offering an open, effective, and investor-friendly business environment.
Importantly, Punjab is progressively moving up the industrial growth ladder under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, and the state is attracting investment because of its business-friendly laws, open government, and favorable business climate. The climate of peace, harmony, and goodwill in Punjab has significantly increased industrial investment. Since the Bhagwant Mann government took power in March 2022, Punjab has received investment proposals totaling Rs 1.23 lakh crore, which will create jobs for almost 4.7 lakh young people. Punjab is becoming a model state for other states due to its unprecedented growth in industries like food processing, textiles, auto components, hand tools, bicycles, IT, and tourism.
Punjab is drawing investments from industrialized countries like Japan, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, France, and Spain, among others, as a result of the state government’s industrial-friendly policies. Punjab is becoming the preferred investment destination in both India and the world as a consequence of the state government’s coordinated efforts. In a similar vein, the state now leads the nation in ease of doing business, and the state government’s Fast Track Punjab Portal has become India’s most sophisticated single-window system, providing over 150 business services with the noteworthy benefit of doing away with the need for offline apps entirely.
