Punjab Govt’s Grand Nagar Kirtan for Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Arrives in Ludhiana

Ludhiana prepares for the 350th Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Nagar Kirtan on Nov 20 with flower-petal Palki Sahib, crowd management, and full security arrangements.

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain said Tuesday that the district administration will make thorough and appropriate preparations for the historic religious event in light of the grand Nagar Kirtan being organized by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, which is expected to arrive in Ludhiana on November 20.

The DC reaffirmed that the administration has a responsibility to guarantee that devotees can participate in the Nagar Kirtan with complete devotion and zeal while chairing a thorough review meeting that was attended by GLADA Additional Chief Administrator Ojsavi Alankar, Additional Deputy Commissioners Amarjit Bains, Kulpreet Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh, and other senior officials. He emphasized that every effort would be made to make the event genuinely unforgettable.

All along the way, the revered Sri Palki Sahib will be covered with flower petals. The Nagar Kirtan will also receive a ceremonial guard of honor at its entrances at Khanna, Jagraon, and Ludhiana city.

Ten Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officers have been appointed by the administration as Sector Officers for efficient coordination on the ground. Their duties are well-defined and include cleaning, removing garbage dumps and hanging wires, correct lighting, road repairs, traffic management, crowd control, medical teams with ambulances, langar arrangements, fire tenders, temporary restrooms, Municipal Corporation staff deployment, flower-petal showers, and general coordination with police and other departments.

The route has been split into the following sectors: AETC-II Ludhiana from Samrala Chowk to Sherpur Chowk; SDM Samrala from Sahnewal to Khanna entry point; SDM Khanna from Khanna entry point to Sri Fatehgarh Sahib; SDM Jagraon will supervise arrangements from Jagraon to CT University; Estate Officer GLADA from CT University to the Municipal Corporation limit; SDM West (in coordination with MC Joint Commissioner) from the MC limit to Malhar Road and then to Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib; and SDM East from Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib to Jalandhar Bypass.

The Deputy Commissioner ordered all officers to carry out their responsibilities with full “sewa bhawna” in order to ensure that devotees would not experience any difficulty during the holy event, emphasizing zero tolerance for any shortcomings. In order to get Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s blessings, he urged all Ludhiana residents to attend this once-in-a-lifetime Nagar Kirtan in great numbers.

On November 20, the Nagar Kirtan, which is traveling from Faridkot, Moga, will stop overnight at Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib before continuing on its way. It will move forward for the district of Sn Fatehgarh Sahib on November 20.
