Punjab to Release ₹300 Crore Pending MGNREGA Funds, Expanding Rural Employment

Chandigarh, Punjab: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Sond held a press conference today to share an important update on MGNREGA, the flagship rural employment scheme. He announced that the Centre will release ₹300 crore of pending MGNREGA funds in April, ensuring that thousands of rural workers in Punjab receive their rightful payments on time.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting rural livelihoods, Minister Sond confirmed that no worker’s job card under MGNREGA will be cancelled. This measure safeguards the employment rights of laborers who depend on the scheme for their daily income, emphasizing transparency and reliability in the implementation of MGNREGA.
