MOHALI : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday handed over appointment letters to 818 youth across different departments under the ongoing Mission Rozgar initiative. With this milestone, the AAP government has now provided over 65,264 Punjab government jobs in just four years, ensuring transparent and merit-based recruitment without bribes.

Addressing the gathering, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Today appointment letters are being handed over to 818 youth in the Power Department, Local Government Department, Health and Family Welfare, and Medical Education and Research. The total of over 65,000 Punjab government jobs reflects our commitment to empowering youth and creating employment opportunities across the state.”

He added that recruitment for another 1,750 candidates in the Power Department is ongoing and will be completed by June 2026. “All these jobs have been provided purely on merit and transparency, without any recommendations,” the Chief Minister emphasised.

Reflecting on the situation before 2022, CM Mann highlighted that successive governments had denied youth employment for over a decade, forcing many to seek opportunities abroad. “The youth of Punjab were deprived of government jobs for years, and now, under Mission Rozgar, they are being given their rightful opportunities in their own state,” he stated.

CM Mann urged the recruits to perform their duties with honesty, dedication, and commitment. “From today onwards, these youth are part of the government family, and together we will make Punjab vibrant and prosperous – ‘Rangla Punjab’,” he added.

Several new recruits expressed gratitude for securing Punjab government jobs through a fair and transparent process. Jagjeet Singh from Nabha said he had lost hope of getting a government job until the AAP formed the government. Tajinder Singh from Ferozepur shared that he received his appointment letter without paying a single bribe. Many others, including Gurpreet Kaur from Malerkotla and Sukhmanpreet Singh from Patiala, praised the merit-based recruitment system that allowed them to secure multiple government positions.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s broader welfare initiatives alongside employment, including free electricity for over 90% of households and the Mukh Mantri Mavaan Dhian Satkar scheme providing financial assistance to women. “Providing jobs to youth is not a favour; it is their right. Our focus remains on merit, transparency, and social welfare,” CM Mann said.

Cabinet Ministers Sanjeev Arora and Dr Balbir Singh were present during the ceremony, marking another significant achievement for youth employment under the AAP government. The successful distribution of 818 appointment letters reinforces Punjab’s commitment to delivering transparent Punjab government jobs and empowering the state’s young workforce.
