Forest Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak meets employee unions, announces 44 PFS posts, legal staff recruitment and committee to review pension concerns.

Lal Chand Kataruchak, Punjab’s Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister, stated that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is firmly committed to protecting the rights and welfare of its employees. Speaking during meetings at the Forest Complex, he emphasized that Forest Department staff form an essential part of the administration and assured that their issues are being addressed with seriousness and priority.

Lal Chand Kataruchak Announces 44 PFS Posts After Finance Approval

Lal Chand Kataruchak revealed that, following approval from the Finance Department, a reorganisation proposal of the Forest Department has cleared 44 posts in the Punjab Forest Service (EACF) cadre. To strengthen legal handling of departmental cases, the proposal also includes the creation of two Law Officer positions and six Legal Assistant posts.

On the issue of direct recruitment to the PFS cadre, the minister stated that the government would consider the demand sympathetically after the formal notification of rules pertaining to Forest Rangers.

Responding to pension-related issues highlighted by the Retired Employees Union, he informed that a high-level committee has been formed to examine the matter and submit recommendations. During his interaction with the Democratic Jungle Mazdoor Union, Lal Chand Kataruchak also gave a patient hearing to demands concerning the regularisation of temporary and uneducated employees, including 519 petitioners and non-petitioners.

Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Saurabh Gupta and Chief Wildlife Warden Basant Raj Kumar were also present at the meetings.
