DGP Gaurav Yadav reviews traffic, crowd, and safety arrangements ahead of the grand 350th Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji celebration.

Punjab (Director General of Police) DGP Gaurav Yadav visited Sri Anandpur Sahib on Tuesday to examine the extensive security, facilitation, and traffic management arrangements in advance of the grand celebration of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Since thousands of followers from all over the world are anticipated to attend the massive event, which is set for November 23–25, 2025, careful preparation is crucial.

All supervisory officers have been instructed to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, tact, and devotion when overseeing the sizable assembly, according to DGP Yadav. During the inspection, he was joined by Special DGP Intelligence Praveen Sinha and Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla.

He said that in order to secure the safety and orderly flow of devotees, a large deployment of more than 8,000 police officers, under the direction of top officials, has been made. An comprehensive technological framework underpins the security arrangements, which include surveillance drones stationed at all significant access and exit points, PTZ cameras, facial recognition software, and a state-of-the-art central control center equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).

The entire town has been split up into 25 sectors, each with its own support desk and sub-control room, for easier administration. Shuttle bus services have been implemented to provide hassle-free movement between tent cities and important events around-the-clock. Additionally, smart barricading systems are being installed at strategic points to effectively control crowd flow.

The District Police and IIT Ropar have implemented real-time digital mapping of parking zones, which offers real-time occupancy and capacity updates, to improve traffic management. Accurately guiding devotees and reducing traffic are the goals of this approach. Intelligent monitoring grids, more traffic coordination teams, and improved field supervision are already in place.

DGP Yadav went on to say that the devotees now have access to technology-enabled services including help desks, public restrooms, and dashboards for real-time monitoring. There are also backup plans in place to deal with crises, including referral hospitals, Mohalla Clinics, recovery vehicles, and crowd management teams.

In addition to strategically placing women police officers and specialized civil uniform workers in high-traffic areas, police deployment has been further expedited through the use of QR code-based briefings. In order to avoid any unfortunate incidents, he added, the facial recognition system has been connected with data on local snatchers.

Later, the DGP opened the Police Station Singh Bhagwantpur in the Rupnagar district, the refurbished GO Mess at Ropar Police Lines, and a new auditorium.
