Amber Group invests ₹500 crore in a state-of-the-art R&D centre in Rajpura, Punjab, creating 1,000 jobs and boosting innovation-led manufacturing.
With the announcement of a significant expansion through the construction of a state-of-the-art Research & Development Centre in Rajpura, involving an investment of ₹500 crore, Amber Group of Industries has demonstrated that Punjab is still a top destination for sophisticated manufacturing and innovation. Shri Sanjeev Arora, Punjab’s Cabinet Minister for Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion, Power, and NRI Affairs, welcomed the investment, saying:
“The choice of Amber Group to invest ₹500 crore to establish a big R&D center in Rajpura is a powerful testament to Punjab’s forward-thinking industrial policy, highly qualified workforce, and investor-friendly environment. About 1,000 excellent, well-paying employment will be created by this initiative, which will also greatly improve Punjab’s standing in cutting-edge product design and engineering.With 33 production sites and 12 sales offices in India and abroad, Amber Group of Industries is a prominent diversified manufacturing conglomerate with an annual revenue of over ₹10,000 crore and a market capitalization of about ₹27,000 crore. The Group works in a number of important industries, such as PCBs, air conditioners, power electronics, HVAC systems, buses, railroads, defense, and precise cooling solutions for vital infrastructure.

The Minister went on to highlight Punjab’s expanding position in innovation-led manufacturing, saying: “This new R&D facility will focus on designing, validating, and testing next-generation HVAC products for both domestic and export markets.” Punjab wants to become a center for upscale research, design, and international exports, and this fits in nicely with that goal.
Amber Enterprises India Ltd. CEO Shri Jasbir Singh stated: “Punjab provides a strong combination of skilled talent, robust industrial infrastructure, and a responsive policy framework.” In keeping with our long-term commitment to innovation-led growth in India, we have decided to invest ₹500 crore in two phases to increase our R&D footprint in Rajpura. The future R&D Center will create about 1,000 high-value engineering and technical jobs while concentrating on the sophisticated design, validation, and testing of HVAC solutions for both domestic and international markets. As we improve India’s standing in the global HVAC value chain, we are eager to collaborate closely with the Punjabi government.Amber Group already has a well-established presence in Rajpura, where it runs an R&D center and a sheet metal production facility that produces various components. The Minister further highlighted Punjab’s connection with global value chains by pointing out that Amber Group supplies air conditioners and parts for a number of well-known international companies, including Daikin, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Hitachi, Fujitsu General, LG and Samsung, Voltas, Godrej, etc.
“Such investments demonstrate the success of our ongoing reforms aimed at ease of doing business, fast approvals, and investor facilitation and reinforce confidence in Punjab as a reliable partner for global OEMs,” stated Shri Arora.He continued by saying that the Punjabi government is still dedicated to provide Amber Group and other investors complete support through aggressive facilitation, infrastructure development, and stable policies.
