Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan today conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing Kotkapura Rajbah concrete lining work, which is being carried out by the Mann government at an estimated cost of ₹12.50 crore. The project aims to improve irrigation efficiency and reduce water wastage in the region.
The Kotkapura Rajbah concrete lining work is designed to ensure that canal water reaches even the tail-end farmers without leakage or seepage losses. Officials informed that the initiative is part of the government’s broader plan to strengthen irrigation infrastructure and improve water distribution across agricultural areas.
During the inspection, Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan closely reviewed the progress of the Kotkapura Rajbah concrete lining work and interacted with local farmers to understand ground-level issues. Farmers raised concerns related to moghiyas and pipeline connectivity, highlighting challenges in water access.

Taking immediate note of these issues, the Speaker directed concerned officials to resolve the problems on priority. He emphasized that the Kotkapura Rajbah concrete lining work should not only focus on infrastructure development but also ensure direct benefits to farmers at the field level.
