Punjab Minister Extends Teachers’ Day Greetings

On the eve of Teachers’ Day, Punjab Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains extended heartfelt greetings to the state’s teaching fraternity. Celebrated on September 5 in honor of Bharat Ratna recipient and former President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the day recognizes teachers’ invaluable role in shaping young minds.

In his message, Minister Bains described teachers as the “backbone of society”, acknowledging their tireless work in imparting knowledge, values, and life skills to students. He emphasized that teachers help mold students into responsible and ideal citizens, crucial for nation-building.

Teachers Driving Educational Excellence in Punjab

Minister Bains highlighted the transformative impact of Punjab’s teaching community, noting initiatives like “School of Eminence” and “School of Happiness”. These programs aim to enhance learning outcomes and empower students to face future challenges confidently.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab’s government has focused on quality education, with students achieving notable results in competitive exams such as NEET and JEE. The state also secured a top ranking in the National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2024, reflecting the commitment to educational excellence.

Teachers Urged to Support Flood Relief Efforts

Alongside acknowledging educational achievements, Minister Bains urged teachers to extend their support in ongoing flood relief operations. He stressed the importance of unity and social responsibility in mitigating the impact of natural disasters.

“Teachers, as role models and pillars of society, can inspire and mobilize communities to help those affected by floods,” said Bains. He encouraged educators to actively participate in relief efforts, reinforcing their societal role beyond classrooms.

Recognizing the Role of Teachers in Society

The minister’s message reinforced the significance of teachers in shaping Punjab’s future. By equipping students with skills, knowledge, and values, teachers contribute not only to academic growth but also to community resilience and social development.

Bains concluded by expressing gratitude to all educators, emphasizing that their dedication remains essential in both education and civic responsibility.
