ECI to Launch ECINET, a Unified Digital Platform for Electoral Services
In a major step towards enhancing digital governance in India’s electoral system, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is all set to launch ECINET, a comprehensive, user-friendly platform designed to serve as a one-stop solution for all electoral stakeholders. The new app will consolidate more than 40 existing IT applications, streamlining access to services and improving efficiency across the board.

Speaking on the development, Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sibin C said that ECINET is being designed with a modern and intuitive user interface (UI) and a simplified user experience (UX), aiming to eliminate the hassle of managing multiple apps and logins.
“Currently, citizens and officials use a variety of platforms for different electoral services. ECINET will integrate these into a single-point system to provide seamless access, especially during elections when time and clarity are crucial,” Sibin explained.
Envisioned by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during the Conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) held in March 2025, the project is being developed under the supervision of the Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi. It has already entered advanced stages of development, with rigorous testing underway to ensure smooth functionality, user-friendliness, and robust data security.
The application will cater to an expansive audience, including nearly 100 crore electors, over 10.5 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs), around 15 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties, 45 lakh polling officials, and thousands of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and District Election Officers (DEOs).
Popular existing apps like the Voter Helpline, CVIGIL, Suvidha 2.0, Saksham, KYC, and others—collectively downloaded over 5.5 crore times—will be merged into ECINET. The move is expected to significantly reduce redundancy, enhance accessibility, and ensure more accurate dissemination of electoral information.
Importantly, all data made available through ECINET will be entered and verified by authorized ECI officials only, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and integrity. In the case of any discrepancies, the data provided in officially sanctioned statutory forms will take precedence.
To ensure it meets the needs of all users, the platform is being developed through an extensive consultative process involving 36 State/UT CEOs, 767 DEOs, and 4,123 EROs, along with a thorough review of 76 official publications and over 9,000 pages of electoral guidelines.
As per the Election Commission, ECINET will operate in full compliance with legal provisions under the Representation of People Acts of 1950 and 1951, the Registration of Electors Rules (1960), the Conduct of Election Rules (1961), and other relevant regulations.
Once launched, ECINET is expected to revolutionize the way electoral processes are managed in India, making it easier for citizens to engage with democracy and for officials to manage elections more efficiently
