MRSAFPI SAS Nagar honoured eight newly commissioned officers with Achiever Awards, with CM Bhagwant Mann highlighting Punjab government’s support for defence aspirants.

The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) in SAS Nagar honored the accomplishments of its distinguished alumni by presenting the esteemed Achiever Awards to eight recently commissioned officers, reaffirming the commitment of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to support the aspirations of young people.

Eight AFPIANs were honored at the Achiever Award ceremony for their 2025 commissions into the Defense Services: seven were commissioned in November or December of 2025, and one was commissioned in March of the same year. The young officers engaged with the training cadets, imparting knowledge from their pre-commissioning institutions and inspiring them to make the state and country proud.

In addition to congratulating the eight young officers who received Achiever Awards, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Minister Aman Arora said, “Their success will inspire Punjab’s youth to serve the nation with honor & bring pride to Punjab.”

Maj Gen Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd), the director of MRSAFPI, congratulated the young officers on their commissioning and expressed the hope that the training they got there will continue to give them a solid foundation for success in their service careers. He went on to say that the Punjab government, led by CM Mann and Aman Arora, is strongly supporting the Institute and giving Punjabi youth sufficient possibilities to enlist in the military.

In the meantime, the Institute, which started operating in 2011, is becoming a significant feeder institution for the Defense Forces. As of right now, 278 of the Institute’s cadets have joined NDA or other institutions, and 186 of them have received officer commissions. As of this writing, 47 cadets are getting ready for their Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews, while 10 more cadets have gotten joining letters to attend NDA and other institutions.
