Chandigarh: The AAP Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is set to roll out Punjab’s biggest health security scheme, the Chief Minister Sehat Bima Yojana , starting January 2026. The initiative aims to provide cashless medical treatment of up to ₹10 lakh per family, ensuring that no household is forced into debt due to illness.
The scheme will cover 65 lakh families across all 23 districts of Punjab, with treatment accessible in both government and private hospitals. Coverage will include every member of the family, and there will be no premium or financial burden on the beneficiaries.
Officials describe the CM Sehat Bima Yojana as a landmark healthcare initiative for Punjab, expected to significantly reduce the burden of medical costs for low- and middle-income families. The scheme ensures that affordable and quality medical care is available to all citizens of the state.
