AAP MLA Dhaliwal exposes divisions in Punjab Congress, says factionalism prevents party from regaining power, praises AAP governance.

MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, the chief spokesperson for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab, responded to remarks made by Punjab Congress man Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa by claiming that the Congress is actually split into factions as a result of internal strife and infighting, and that any talk of “unity” within the party is only an attempt to deceive the public.

Randhawa is boldly asserting that there is no disagreement inside the Punjab Congress and that they will accept whoever Rahul Gandhi or in-charge Bhupesh Baghel selects to be the chief minister, according to a statement released on Friday, Dhaliwal said. But the same Randhawa stated a few days ago in a television interview that he aspires to be both the chief minister and the state president. “A leader has no moral right to speak about unity if he cannot even control his own ambitions,” he remarked.

Dhaliwal asserted that the matter goes beyond Rahul Gandhi’s or Bhupesh Baghel’s choices. All of the Punjab Congress’s top brass, including Raja Warring, Charanjit Singh Channi, Pratap Singh Bajwa, and Rana Gurjeet, are “hungry for power.” Every single one of them has a faction. Each of them aspires to be the party president or chief minister. There are now dozens of divisions within the Punjab Congress, and these leaders are mainly engaged in their own personal conflicts.

These same leaders are accountable for the Congress’s demise in Punjab, the AAP leader made clear. He declared that the Congress would not be able to retake power in Punjab, no matter how hard it tried. The Congress’s fifty-year existence demonstrates that it has only seen internal conflict and factionalism.

Dhaliwal challenged Randhawa, saying that if he genuinely loved Punjab, he should publicly declare that he would accept the party’s choice for chief minister without reservation.

Dhaliwal expressed optimism that the AAP government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has completed significant, people-centered projects in recent years. He stated that even more significant development projects will be carried out in the upcoming year. The people of Punjab have already rejected these Congress divisions in 2027, regardless of whether they come together or stay split. Work will determine whether the Aam Aadmi Party forms the Punjabi government again.
