3,256 boys from Punjab appeared for MRSAFPI entrance exam; only 48 will be selected for two-year training leading to NDA/Defence Academies.

MRSAFPI entrance exam :  For the 16th Course at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali), 3,256 boys from Punjab took the entrance exam. Only 48 applicants will ultimately be chosen for the Institute’s two-year training program, which will prepare them to enroll in the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other military academies and eventually become commissioned officers in the Defence Services.

Notably, since Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s Punjab government came to power in the state, 100 cadets have joined NDA/equivalent Academies and 84 cadets have been commissioned as officers in the Defence Forces of India. The esteemed institute is run under the auspices of Punjab’s Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training department, which is led by Cabinet Minister Aman Arora.

The entrance exam was administered at four locations: Lord Rama Public School, Bathinda; Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar; and School of Eminence (Phase-11 & Phase-3B1, Mohali), according to Major General Ajay H Chauhan, VSM, Director MRSAFPI. The test was administered by C-DAC in order to choose applicants for the institute’s two years of intense training, which will prepare them for admission to the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other defense institutions.

The top 150 applicants would be contacted for interviews and medical examinations following the class 10 board exams, Major General Chauhan added. Lastly, 48 applicants will be chosen for MRSAFPI’s two-year training program. According to him, the chosen applicants will receive intense instruction from knowledgeable instructors spanning leadership, academics, and physical fitness. The young of Punjab have a fantastic opportunity to serve their country.
