Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema assures employees, including contractual staff, that valid demands are being actively resolved.

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema reiterated the state government’s commitment to resolving employee concerns, saying that many employee issues, including those involving contractual staff, have already been resolved under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s direction. The Finance Minister emphasized that the remaining valid demands are being actively considered and are presently being resolved.

The Finance Minister led a high-level meeting at his office in the Punjab Secretariat, where he discussed the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and the Department of Education in detail. The Vice Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, as well as important officials, including Secretary Expenditure Dr. V.N. Zade, Secretary Education Anindita Mitra, Special Secretary Personnel Upkar Singh, and Special Secretary Finance Ajay Arora, attended the meeting.

The Finance Minister Cheema also spoke with leaders of the ETT TET Pass Teachers Association (Jai Singh Wala) and the Ex-Employees Wing of the Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab, during the meeting. The Finance Minister assured the Teachers Association delegate that their legitimate concerns were being taken into consideration during their conversation. He did, however, suggest that the organization should make sure that four to five leaders, rather than just one, are represented in any future high-level discussions involving senior officers. He pointed out that this strategy would enable a more thorough conversation and aid in creating a consensus more successfully.

Additionally, the Finance Minister instructed the Finance Department and other pertinent departments to take the necessary steps in response to the justifiable demands made during the meeting in his conversation with the leaders of the Ex-Employees Wing. He reaffirmed that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is still pro-employee and committed to fostering a stable and encouraging work environment for all public employees.

President Gurmail Singh Sidhu, District Secretary Khushwinder Kapila, Advisor Darshan Singh, Makhan Singh, Gurdev Singh Patiala, and Kamal Thakur, President of the ETT TET Pass Teachers Association (Jai Singh Wala), were among the representatives of the Aam Aadmi Party’s Ex-Employees Wing who voiced their concerns during the meetings.
