MP Governor Mangubhai Patel meets Goa delegation, discusses tribal welfare, health programs, and inclusive development during five-day Madhya Pradesh visit.

MP Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel was visited at Raj Bhavan by a group from the Goa government’s Department of Information and Publicity. During its five-day tour to Madhya Pradesh, the group, headed by Shri Deepak Bandekar, Director of Information and Publicity, Goa, met with the governor. Shri Bandekar introduced the delegation members and congratulated the governor by presenting him with a memento and traditional Goan attire. This time, Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari, the Governor’s Principal Secretary, was also in attendance.

Governor Shri Patel revealed during the conversation that he had turned the Raj Bhavan into a hub for public welfare in keeping with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s agenda. He claimed to have had regular conversations with residents of the state’s more isolated and underdeveloped regions. He developed strong ties with impoverished populations by traveling to every district in Madhya Pradesh within the first two years of his appointment. The Governor stated that he frequently attends community meals at the homes of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries and visits communities that are chosen at the last minute to personally examine public systems through conversation and interaction.

Additionally, Madhya Pradesh’s forests, tourism attractions, and development initiatives were discussed by Governor Shri Patel. He discussed his experiences working under Prime Minister Modi’s direction, highlighting the Prime Minister’s profound empathy for tribal populations. He characterized programs like PM-JANMAN and Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan as revolutionary attempts to help all tribal families in the nation. Additionally, he emphasized the Aadi Karmayogi Yojana, which encourages empowerment and knowledge in indigenous communities.

The governor spoke about “Sickle Cell Anemia” and other health issues that tribal populations face. He spoke into detail about the disease’s signs, symptoms, behavioral problems, and medical reasons as well as the state’s initiatives for management, treatment, and control. He explained that Madhya Pradesh is taking the lead in Prime Minister Modi’s national initiative to eradicate sickle cell illness by 2047. According to Shri Patel, screening to find patients and carriers as well as genetic counseling that discourages carriers from getting married are two essential elements of sickle cell control.

With almost 1.23 crore people screened out of an estimated 1.9 crore indigenous people, the state has achieved impressive strides, he said. Prime Minister Modi acknowledged Madhya Pradesh’s pioneering efforts by distributing the first one crore of the more than one crore digital genetic counseling cards that have been distributed. The governor asked the delegation members to actively participate in fostering an atmosphere that supports inclusive development and to give health and education awareness initiatives top priority within tribal communities.

The delegation is currently on a five-day research tour of Madhya Pradesh, with planned stops in Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal to engage with media outlets and public relations representatives to learn how they operate. Additionally, members will tour significant religious and historical locations in these cities.
