Bhopal – In a significant move to strengthen healthcare services and support medical professionals, the Madhya Pradesh government has approved a substantial increase in the stipend for junior doctors across the state, effective from April 1, 2026 . The decision was made under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of medical education and healthcare delivery.

The Junior Doctors Stipend Hike 2026 aims to provide financial support and recognize the pivotal role junior doctors play in the state’s healthcare system. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla emphasized that junior doctors are a vital link in the medical ecosystem, not only completing their medical training in government medical colleges but also ensuring continuous healthcare services for patients.

Revised Stipend Details

According to the official order issued by the Medical Education Department, the stipend for junior doctors has been revised based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 2.94%. The revised Junior Doctors Stipend Hike 2026 details are as follows:

  • PG First Year: Increased from ₹75,444 to ₹77,662
  • PG Second Year: Increased from ₹77,764 to ₹80,050
  • PG Third Year: Increased from ₹80,086 to ₹82,441
  • Interns: Increased from ₹13,928 to ₹14,337
  • Super Specialty (1st, 2nd, 3rd Year): ₹82,441
  • Senior Resident: Increased from ₹88,210 to ₹90,803
  • Junior Resident: ₹63,324

The revised stipend structure ensures that all junior doctors studying and serving in government medical colleges across Madhya Pradesh will directly benefit from this initiative.
