CM Mohan Yadav Unveils Indore Metropolitan Plan for Future Growth

New 14,000 Sq Km Metro Region to Drive Indore’s Future Urban Growth

CM Mohan Yadav announced a 14,000 sq km Indore Metropolitan plan, linking Ratlam and Shajapur with the Indore–Bhopal corridor for future growth.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav affirmed that Indore holds a unique and important position. A comprehensive Indore Metropolitan plan has been developed to provide a definitive framework for future development. The Metropolitan map generated today covers an area of approximately 14,000 square kilometres. Extending from Indore to Ratlam and from Ratlam to Shajapur, this metropolitan region will incorporate the adjacent areas and establish connectivity with the Indore–Bhopal corridor as a network for a sustainable city. The Chief Minister indicated that, moving forward, the regions designated as part of the metropolitan area of Indore will form the foundation for future urban development. Accordingly, future structures will be erected, and the subsequent stage of development will be established. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav delivered a speech to the assembled audience on Sunday at the ‘Shunya Se Shikhar Samman 2025’ event, held in Indore.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that metro services will be conducted underground where necessary, with the government covering the entire cost of the project. He affirmed that the city’s aesthetic integrity would be maintained. Elevated roads will also be built, and where they offer convenience to the public, suitable access routes will be provided.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav declared that the development-oriented budget would be doubled within five years. He underscored the importance of identifying new opportunities and integrating cutting-edge technologies. Preparations are in progress to advance across all sectors—ranging from drone technology and semiconductors to information technology, healthcare, infrastructure, wellness, and tourism. He asserted that the state government will leave no stone unattended in fostering investment in Madhya Pradesh.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Member of Parliament Shri Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargav, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade, Police Commissioner Shri Santosh Singh, Collector Shri Shivam Verma, Shri Rajesh Chelawat, and Shri Kishor Chelawat were in attendance on the occasion. Distinguished individuals who have attained significant accomplishments across diverse disciplines were also recognized and honoured during the program.
