SHIVPURI, MADHYA PRADESH — A shocking case of alleged VVIP entitlement has emerged from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district. On Thursday, April 16, 2026, a Mahindra Thar SUV caused a major accident in the Karera police station area. The vehicle, reportedly driven by Dinesh Lodhi, the BJP MLA’s son, rammed into five people during the morning hours. Instead of offering immediate help, the accused reportedly engaged in a heated argument with the bleeding victims. He questioned why they failed to clear the road despite his vehicle’s siren and horn.
The incident occurred around 7:30 AM while the SUV was traveling toward Tila Road. The vehicle first struck a motorcycle carrying three men—Sanjay Parihar, Ashish Parihar, and Anshul Parihar. Subsequently, the SUV hit two women, Sita Verma and Pooja Soni, who were walking ahead. Witnesses noted that the vehicle bore “MLA” and “Pritam Lodhi” signage but lacked a registration number plate.

“Why Didn’t You Move?”: Viral Video Sparks Fury
Following the collision, a video of the aftermath went viral on social media. The clip shows Dinesh Lodhi, the son of Pichhore MLA Pritam Lodhi, nonchalantly questioning the injured. “When I was sounding the siren, why didn’t you move?” he is heard asking the victims. Furthermore, witnesses alleged that he threatened bystanders who attempted to record the scene on their mobile phones.
So this is Pritam Lodhi’s son, Dinesh Lodhi Mla picchore casually mowing down 5 people with a Thar like roads are his personal racetrack. Reports indicate that after the accident, the BJP MLA’s son did not take the injured to the hospital. Instead, he allegedly drove straight to a nearby gym to complete his daily workout. This perceived lack of empathy has triggered widespread local protests and calls for immediate arrest. The injured victims were eventually shifted to a local hospital by passers-by, where they are currently being treated for head and limb injuries.
Police Action and Political Fallout
The Karera police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Dinesh Lodhi. The charges include sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to rash and negligent driving. However, as of Friday morning, no arrest has been made. This delay has led to accusations of political pressure interfering with the investigation.
MLA Pritam Lodhi addressed the controversy through a social media statement. He emphasized that “the public comes first, not family,” and urged the police to ensure an impartial probe. Despite this public stance, the incident has placed the ruling party in a difficult position. This is especially true given past allegations of reckless behavior involving the same individual.
Rising Concerns Over Road Safety and Privilege
This case adds to a growing list of accidents involving high-profile individuals in the state. Many residents are now demanding stricter regulations on the use of sirens and “MLA” stickers on private vehicles. The absence of a number plate on the Thar has also raised questions about traffic law enforcement for the powerful.
The Shivpuri administration has assured the public that the law will take its course. Forensic teams have inspected the crash site to determine the speed of the vehicle at the time of impact. Meanwhile, the victims’ families are demanding that the charges be upgraded to include criminal intimidation. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on whether political lineage will shield the accused from the consequences of his actions.
