Gurugram, Haryana — Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, chaired an important review meeting with officials from GMDA (Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority) and the Municipal Corporation in Gurugram to assess the progress of ongoing development works.
During the meeting, Rao Narbir Singh emphasized the urgent need to accelerate development work in Gurugram. He directed officials to ensure that all infrastructure and civic projects are completed within stipulated timelines without compromising quality. The minister highlighted that the pace of development work must be increased significantly to match the growing needs of the city.
Focus on Gurugram Development Work, Citizen Convenience and Timely Redressal of Grievances
A major focus of the review meeting was to ensure that residents of Gurugram do not face any inconvenience due to delays or inefficiencies in development work. Rao Narbir Singh instructed officials to adopt a proactive approach and resolve public grievances promptly. He stressed that development work should directly benefit citizens and improve their quality of life.
Special attention was given to the issue of waterlogging during the monsoon season. Rao Narbir Singh strongly directed concerned departments to implement a permanent solution to waterlogging in Gurugram before the onset of rains. He underlined that temporary fixes would not be acceptable and that long-term planning is essential to address recurring problems.

The minister also reviewed preparedness measures and asked officials to identify vulnerable areas prone to flooding. He instructed them to ensure proper drainage systems, timely cleaning of sewer lines, and efficient water management strategies as part of the overall development work plan.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Rao Narbir Singh said that Gurugram’s development work must be citizen-centric, efficient, and sustainable. He assured that strict monitoring will be carried out to ensure that all development work progresses smoothly and delivers visible results on the ground.
The meeting concluded with clear directives to speed up development work, strengthen coordination among departments, and prioritize public convenience at every stage.
