Chandigarh | Haryana — The Haryana government is continuously promoting natural farming in Haryana to empower farmers and improve agricultural sustainability across the state. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini highlighted key progress under the Natural Farming Scheme launched in 2022.
According to the Chief Minister, the state has taken several initiatives to expand natural farming in Haryana, including the development of a dedicated digital portal for farmer registration and monitoring of cultivated land.
Over 2 lakh farmers registered under natural farming scheme
Under the natural farming in Haryana initiative, around 2 lakh farmers have registered on the state’s portal, covering nearly 3 lakh acres of agricultural land. Out of this, verification has been completed for 23,930 farmers, covering approximately 44,000 acres.
The government stated that the structured approach to natural farming in Haryana is helping improve transparency, planning, and implementation of eco-friendly agricultural practices.
Expansion of natural farming area in 2025–26
In the financial year 2025–26, natural farming was practiced across 20,727 acres in the state. Officials said the expansion of natural farming in Haryana reflects growing awareness among farmers about sustainable and chemical-free farming methods.

The government aims to further increase this area in the coming years by encouraging more farmers to adopt natural agricultural practices.
Training centres supporting farmers
To strengthen the implementation of natural farming in Haryana, the state has established training centres in Kurukshetra, Jind, Sirsa, and Karnal. These centres are providing hands-on training to farmers on sustainable farming techniques.
So far, more than 12,000 farmers have been trained under these centres, contributing significantly to the promotion of natural farming in Haryana at the grassroots level.

Government push for sustainable agriculture
Chief Minister Nayab Saini stated that the goal of natural farming in Haryana is to reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and promote environmentally friendly agricultural practices. The initiative is also aimed at improving soil health and increasing long-term productivity.
Officials said the state government is committed to expanding natural farming in Haryana through continued training, financial support, and technological assistance.
