The Haryana government has taken a significant step toward strengthening the power sector as the Distribution Reform Committee (DRC), chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, approved additional electricity infrastructure works worth ₹912.70 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
The decision marks a key milestone in the ongoing Haryana power sector reform under RDSS, aimed at improving efficiency and modernizing the state’s electricity distribution network.
Approval Sent for Further Central-Level Review
As part of the process, the committee has also approved forwarding the proposal to the Monitoring Committee of RDSS, along with the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and the Ministry of Power for further consideration and approval.
Officials said this step strengthens the Haryana power sector reform under RDSS by ensuring transparent evaluation and coordinated implementation at the national level.
Significant Improvement in Power Distribution Performance
The decision comes at a time when Haryana’s power distribution companies have been ranked among the best-performing utilities in the country. The state has recorded a notable reduction in transmission and distribution (T&D) losses along with improved operational efficiency.
