Haryana to celebrate 649th Guru Ravidas Jayanti on Jan 31 in Kurukshetra; CM Saini, Union Minister Manohar Lal to attend.
Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister, stated that the Haryana Government will mark the 649th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji with complete dedication and reverence, as it does every year. He announced that the state-level Guru Ravidas Jayanti ceremony would take place on January 31 in Umri, Kurukshetra district. He stated that the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, and the Union Minister for Power, Sh. Manohar Lal, will attend the occasion as Chief Guests, with the Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, presiding over the event. Sh. Sudesh Kataria, Union Minister Manohar Lal’s Chief Media Advisor, will provide particular help in overseeing the ceremony’s spectacular arrangements.
Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar held a press conference on Monday at his office. He stated that all Ministers, MLAs, and other public representatives of the state government will be invited to the state-level event. Along with this, social and religious organisations from around the state, as well as the general public, will be asked to join, allowing Guru Ravidas Ji’s ideas and teachings to reach a wider audience.
He described Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji as a wonderful saint of social justice, equality, and humanity. He spoke out passionately against discrimination, untouchability, and caste inequalities in society through his teachings and poetry. Guru Ravidas Ji’s ideas continue to motivate society to remain united and follow the road of equality.

Sh. Panwar stated that the Haryana government has been continually organizing birth anniversaries and memorial celebrations under the “Sant-Mahapurush Samman Vichar evam Prasar Yojana” with the goal of promoting the teachings and values of saints and great persons among the masses. The teachings of such great individuals are a priceless legacy for humanity that must be preserved and shared together. The government’s goal is to inspire the next generation to follow in the footsteps of saints and great individuals by learning from their lives, views, and works, he explained.
On Swami Vivekananda Ji’s birth anniversary, Sh. Panwar gave compliments. He also conveyed greetings and best wishes to the state’s citizens on Lohri, Makar Sankranti, and New Year’s Day.
In response to a question on the impending budget, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar stated that Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is constantly meeting with farmers, industrialists, and leaders from other segments of society to solicit pre-budget suggestions. He stated that good and realistic proposals will be incorporated in the budget, which will be developed with public input and will serve as a road map for Haryana’s overall growth. He expressed optimism that the Chief Minister would also prioritize the Development and Panchayats Department in the future budget.
Guru Ravidas Temple, hostel, and Dharamshala to be built on 5 acres
Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar went on to say that in his honor, a temple, a hostel, and a dharamshala will be built in Umri, Kurukshetra, near the GT Road. He stated that the state government just decided in Cabinet to provide the institution with five acres of land for free. The Haryana government has decided to build a big institution on the five acres of land named after Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji.
