The Haryana government has taken serious cognizance of the Haryana declining sex ratio issue and initiated strict disciplinary action against health officials for alleged negligence in implementing measures aimed at improving the sex ratio across the state.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr. Sumita Misra, has ordered the immediate suspension of four senior medical officers. The action has been taken on grounds of alleged poor monitoring and failure to effectively implement programmes designed to improve the sex ratio.

Haryana declining sex ratio Issue: Government Vows Zero Tolerance on Negligence and Illegal Practices

The government emphasized that the Haryana declining sex ratio issue is being treated with utmost seriousness, and any negligence in enforcing laws against illegal sex determination and female foeticide will not be tolerated. Strict monitoring systems are being strengthened to ensure compliance at all levels.

Officials stated that the Haryana declining sex ratio drive focuses on improving gender balance through stronger enforcement mechanisms, increased accountability, and sustained awareness campaigns. Health department teams have been directed to intensify field-level monitoring and reporting to ensure effective implementation.
