Haryana Cabinet approves jobs for families of 1984 Anti-Sikh riot victims via HKRN, fulfilling CM Nayab Singh Saini’s promise to support affected families.

The Haryana Cabinet, which met with Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini in charge, approved a change to the Deployment of Contractual Persons Policy, 2022. This change will give one family member of each of the people from Haryana who died in the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots a job, whether they live in the state or not.

The decision puts into action what the Chief Minister said in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on August 25, 2025, and shows that the State Government is committed to helping the families who were affected.

The amendment adds a new clause to the policy that allows one current family member of riot victims who has been unanimously identified to be considered for deployment through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN) for a job in Level-I, Level-II, or Level-III, depending on their educational qualifications and the HKRN’s eligibility criteria.

If all the positions in a department are filled, HKRN will move the qualified person to another department or to a different section of its own business to make sure they have a job.

This kind action gives families who lost loved ones in the 1984 riots a way to get involved through HKRN that is fair, open, and respectful.
